Royal Caribbean International has officially named Kellie Gerardi—astronaut, scientist, author, and social media influencer—as the godmother of its newest Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas. The announcement came on August 15, 2025, just days before the ship’s grand debut from Port Canaveral, Florida. Gerardi steps into a role steeped in maritime tradition: blessing and symbolically protecting the vessel for all who sail on her.
