Oasis Class Blog Series Part 4: What's Different about Harmony of the Seas ?

Royal Caribbean International's Harmony of the Seas is just weeks away from her Southampton debut and the industry is preparing for the biggest cruise ship launch since the 2009 debut of Oasis of the Seas.

So what is so exciting about Harmony of the Seas? She will be the third in class so why is everybody so excited for this ship. Below are a few reasons why Harmony of the Seas should be the most exciting thing that is happening in your life.

#1 She will be the largest passenger ship in the world at 227,000 GRT, she will be longer and wider than both her sisters and she will hold approximately 6,410 guests and 2,300 crew members. Yes, 8,170 people in total on board. Not to worry though Harmony will be equip with state of the art safety features and room to evacuate 10,000 people!

#2 Harmony of the Seas will be home to the first ever full Starbucks store at sea. This Starbucks location will be located right in the middle of Harmony’s Boardwalk. I mean we are talking about STARBUCKS, this takes “meeting for coffee” to a new level.

#3 “Bionic Bar” will have a full location on the Royal Promenade. The “Bionic Bar” has not one but two robotic bartenders, originally debuting on the Quantum of the Seas in a small space, the Bionic Bar has been upgraded. Honestly did I really have to say more than robotic bartenders? Hello future!

#4 Harmony of the Seas will have larger staterooms than her older sisters. All 2,747 staterooms will be larger and some interior staterooms will feature a “Virtual Balcony.” Again I say hello future!

#5 Harmony of the Seas will feature Three watersides, together know as “The Perfect Storm.” In addition to the Perfect Storm slides the Harmony will feature two 10 story dry slides on the back of the ship called “The Ultimate Abyss.” Large slides are an overall new concept for Royal Caribbean International and, as a commitment to guests experience, some older ships will be getting watersides during renovations.

Harmony of the Seas will be the Oasis Class with all the features we wanted included so it is safe to say it is the ship of Royal Caribbean cruisers dreams.
