Yes, Royal Caribbean's Amplification program continues with Explorer of the Seas! New adventures arrive May 7, 2020, as Explorer will become the first "Royally Amplified" ship to sail from Rome (Civitavecchia). Here are some of the things to look forward to on this classic Royal Ship!
New Adventures:
Perfect Storm Waterslide:
Arguably the most noticeable difference on Royal's amplified ships is the new "Perfect Storm" waterslides. Explorer will receive a duo of full-size waterslides and encourage some friendly competition amongst guests!
Reimagined Poolscape:
Introduced on the Amplified Navigator of the Seas, the poolscape onboard Explorer will resemble a new chic "resort deck" design. This redesign leaves the days of the "lido deck" in the past, bring modern lounge chairs, loungers, hammocks, and so many more ways to relax under the sun. In addition to a new poolscape, adults can enjoy a rejuvenated solarium! Island vibes all day!
The Lime and the Coconut:
Quickly becoming a Royal Caribbean Signature venue, Lime and the Coconut will span three stories and bring a new name tp poolside day drinking! A walk-up bar and vast seating with loungers and a rooftop terrace to lounge under the stars, Lime and Coconut is already your new favorite bar!

Royal Caribbean's signature Italian restaurant is getting a new spin! A modern casual feel will delight guests with hand made pasta and hand-tossed pizza, my mouth is already watering!
Playmakers Sportsbar and Arcade:
Pub food amplified! Playmakers is the place to be to watch the big game, play classic arcade games and, my favorite, enjoy the most massive ice cream sundae at sea!
Johnny Rockets Express:
This classic 1950's style dinner is getting new digs, poolside! You will never have to walk more than 20 steps from the pool to enjoy a classic chocolate malt or burger and fries!
Starbucks:
A standalone Starbucks will have another storefront at sea onboard Explorer!
New Ways to Play:
Glow in the Dark Laser Tag: Grab your fellow passengers in the "Clash for the Crystal City" to avoid extinction in Studio B.
Adventure Ocean: This award-winning child program will undergo a floor to ceiling renovation and introduce a new whimsical open layout allowing guests 6-12 to choose their activities! The youngest cruisers 3-5 years old will have their own designated areas!
Exclusive Teen Hangout:
Bringing the latest movies, music, and games to your teens even while at sea and they will also have a private outdoor hangout. That way, us adults do not have to be embarrassed by our teens! The Explorer of the Seas will undergo this extensive 110 million dollar amplification from March 1, 2020, to May 7, 2020!
