Carnival Reveals New Restaurants, Bars, and Dining Changes Coming Across the Fleet

Carnival Cruise Line new dining update featuring seafood, coastal dishes and specialty restaurant cuisine from The Next Course
Carnival Cruise Line revealed The Next Course, a new dining update with restaurants, bars and fleetwide culinary changes.

Carnival Cruise Line is serving up a major dining update with The Next Course, a new wave of restaurants, bars, and fleetwide culinary changes that will roll out across the brand’s ships and debut on two upcoming Excel-class ships. The new dining program includes restaurants and bars planned for Carnival Festivale, scheduled to debut in 2027, and Carnival Tropicale, scheduled to arrive in 2028. Carnival is also introducing new menus and dining enhancements across the fleet. Carnival says the new offerings were shaped by its massive scale at sea. The cruise line carries more than 6 million guests annually and serves more than 100 million meals, giving the brand insight into what travelers look for when they dine onboard. The announcement was unveiled during an immersive event in New Orleans with Carnival Chief Culinary Officer Emeril Lagasse, giving attendees a preview of the cruise line’s culinary future. Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said dining and service continue to be a major part of Carnival’s success, calling the latest culinary update “a bold step forward” for the brand. Its massive scale at sea shaped the new offerings

New Restaurants Coming to Carnival Festivale and Carnival Tropicale

Several new restaurant concepts are being added as part of The Next Course, with a mix of seafood, Hawaiian, Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, Greek and French-inspired dining.

Emeril’s Coastal Seafood

Emeril’s Coastal Seafood will bring coastal-inspired cuisine from Emeril Lagasse to the new ships. The concept is expected to focus on seafood and coastal flavors, expanding Carnival’s partnership with Lagasse beyond the existing Emeril-branded venues found on some current ships.

Uku Lei Lei

Uku Lei Lei will feature Hawaiian specialties and Asian classics. The venue adds a more tropical and pan-Asian dining option to the lineup, fitting the broader vacation-driven style of Carnival’s newest ships.

Fetaccine

Fetaccine will offer a Mediterranean-inspired menu combining Italian favorites with Greek specialties. The concept appears to build on Carnival’s popular casual specialty dining approach while introducing a broader Mediterranean direction.

Le Bistro Musicale

Le Bistro Musicale will be exclusive to Carnival Festivale. The venue will feature classic French cuisine in a relaxed Parisian-style setting with a music-filled atmosphere.

New Bars Coming to Carnival Festivale

Carnival Festivale will also introduce several new bar concepts designed around music, creativity, and flexible day-to-night spaces.

The Spark will be a vibrant lounge with live performances and cocktails inspired by iconic songs. Mix will give guests the option to order creative cocktails or craft their own drinks by layering different flavors. Festival Grounds Coffee & Bar will serve specialty coffees and cocktails in a dynamic space that can shift throughout the day.

Fleetwide Dining Changes Are Also Coming

The Next Course is not only about Carnival’s newest ships. Carnival is also rolling out dining updates across the fleet, including refreshed menus and new grab-and-go options. The Main Dining Room will receive new culinary creations for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Lido Marketplace will also see updates, including a new Lido Family Menu with daily kid-approved favorites. BlueIguana Cantina will add daily rotating specials. Carnival is also adding Bagels @ Sea, featuring freshly baked bagels with assorted toppings. The Chef’s Table menu is being revamped with elevated multi-course dinners and regionally inspired flavors. Additional pop-up food options are also planned, including Fruity & Frosted Breakfast Bars and Ice Cream and Milkshake Bars on Excel-class ships, along with other pop-up experiences across the fleet. Carnival is also expanding mobile coffee shop ordering and pickup, giving guests more grab-and-go options. Another new feature, Express Dining, is designed to offer a faster and more convenient Main Dining Room experience.

What This Means for Carnival Guests

The biggest takeaway is that Carnival is not limiting its next dining update to one ship. While the newest restaurants and bars will help define Carnival Festivale and Carnival Tropicale, several dining changes are also being introduced fleetwide. For guests, that means more variety in the Main Dining Room, new casual food options, updated specialty dining, more mobile ordering and additional fast-casual choices around the ship. Carnival Festivale is expected to debut in 2027, while Carnival Tropicale is planned for 2028. Both ships will join Carnival’s Excel-class lineup, which already includes Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee. With The Next Course, Carnival is making food and beverage a larger part of its next-generation ships while also refreshing the dining experience for guests sailing across the fleet.
