Margaritaville at Sea Expands with New Ship

In celebration of its third anniversary, Margaritaville at Sea has announced a bold new step in its ongoing fleet expansion: acquiring its third ship, the Costa Fortuna. The vessel, currently sailing under Costa Cruises, will soon undergo a full reimagination to join the growing Margaritaville at Sea lineup.

This latest addition will be the largest in the fleet, marking a significant milestone for the cruise line known for blending laid-back island vibes with top-tier hospitality. At over 102,500 gross tons and with a capacity for approximately 3,450 passengers, the Costa Fortuna features more than 1,340 staterooms, 13 passenger decks, expansive open-air areas, and a soaring 8-story atrium—all soon to be transformed with Margaritaville’s signature tropical style.

"Over the last three years, we have been incredibly focused on building Margaritaville at Sea by delivering more of what our guests love – a uniquely laid-back island attitude with award-winning hospitality," said Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea. “The acquisition of our third ship in three years is a proud moment and a thrilling opportunity to introduce even more cruisers to the Margaritaville state of mind.”

Margaritaville at Sea New Ship

Since launching its flagship, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, in May 2022, the company has welcomed hundreds of thousands of guests aboard its floating escapes. The 2024 debut of the Margaritaville at Sea Islander further solidified the brand’s momentum, earning widespread praise from passengers and critics alike. Accolades include Cruise Critic’s #1 Cruisers’ Choice Award and Newsweek's 2025 Best Ship for Families nod.

John Cohlan, CEO of Margaritaville, echoed the excitement, noting, “Margaritaville at Sea has been on an exceptional trajectory since its launch only a few short years ago. We’re thrilled to once again expand the experience of our brand on the water and share the cruise line’s signature experiences and amenities with even more guests.”

The Costa Fortuna will continue to operate under Costa Cruises until late 2026 when it will officially join the Margaritaville at Sea fleet under a new name and homeport.

With its largest ship yet on the horizon, Margaritaville at Sea is sailing full steam ahead, bringing more music, margaritas, and maritime adventure to the high seas.
