Virgin Voyages just made a major shake-up to how its cruises are priced. With the launch of VoyageFair Choices, Sailors now have clearer options, more flexibility, and a transparent look at what’s included before they ever step onboard.
🌟 What’s Changing
Starting October 7, 2025, all new bookings for Sea Terrace and below cabins will fall under one of three new fare tiers:
Base – the lowest price, but also the least flexible.
Essential – most similar to the current Virgin fare.
Premium – includes the most perks, flexibility, and even a built-in Bar Tab.
RockStar & Mega RockStar Suites will continue with their existing perks, but get earlier dining reservations (up to 120 days out).
📊 Side-by-Side Comparison

🍽️ Dining Reservation Flexibility
Virgin Voyages is known for its foodie-forward approach, and now, when you can book those hot tables depends on your tier:
Base: 15 days before sailing
Essential: 45 days before sailing
Premium: 60 days before sailing
Suites: 120 days before sailing
💳 Gratuities Made Clear
Instead of being bundled in, gratuities are now shown as a separate line item:
$20 per Sailor per night if prepaid
$22 per Sailor per night if paid onboard
Virgin says this change doesn’t impact total price — it just makes comparisons with other cruise lines easier. Importantly, there’s still no tipping expected once onboard.
⚓ What’s Not Changing
Sailors will still enjoy Virgin’s Always Included Luxury:✅ Specialty dining✅ Soda, still & sparkling water✅ Fitness classes✅ World-class entertainment✅ Wi-Fi (tier depends on fare)
And Virgin confirms crew pay remains unaffected by this shift.
🎯 Cruise Ship Crayz Takeaway
This move puts Virgin closer to what travelers already see with airlines and hotels. It adds transparency, highlights what’s included at each level, and keeps the onboard vibe tips-free and worry-free.
For travel advisors, the new tiers will make quoting Virgin easier and more competitive against mainstream cruise lines. For Sailors, it’s all about choosing how much flexibility (and Wi-Fi speed!) you want.
