MSC Cruises Expands MSC Aurea Spa Across the Fleet

MSC Cruises is responding to a growing shift in travel behavior as wellness tourism continues to become a larger part of the vacation experience. More travelers are looking for trips that allow them to relax, recharge and return home feeling better than when they left.

With the expanded MSC Aurea Spa experience, MSC Cruises is creating an onboard wellness destination that gives guests more ways to focus on self-care while still enjoying the destinations, dining, entertainment and onboard experiences of a cruise vacation.

Claudio Saviano, Head of Aurea Spa, MSC Cruises, said: “Today’s travelers are looking for more than a vacation — they want to return home feeling better than when they left. Our vision is to create the most complete wellness experience at sea, combining relaxation, beauty, recovery and self-care in one destination. Whether a guest is seeking rejuvenation, advanced skincare, restorative therapies or simply a moment of calm, MSC Aurea Spa now offers an experience comparable to the world’s leading wellness retreats.”

Medical Wellness Treatments Coming to Select MSC Cruises Ships

One of the biggest additions to MSC Aurea Spa will be new medical wellness treatments, available on select ships beginning in summer 2026 and starting in North America.

These new services will include IV therapy, aesthetic injectables, dermal fillers and permanent make-up. MSC Cruises says the treatments will be performed by licensed professionals.

The addition marks a major expansion of the traditional cruise ship spa model. Instead of focusing only on massages, facials and relaxation spaces, MSC Aurea Spa will now offer a broader wellness and beauty experience that includes more advanced and personalized services.

AI Skin Analysis and Advanced Skincare Added to MSC Aurea Spa

MSC Cruises is also adding AI-powered skin analysis to the MSC Aurea Spa experience. The new technology will provide personalized skin assessments, helping guests receive tailored treatment recommendations and product guidance based on their individual skincare needs.

Advanced skin treatments will also be part of the expanded program. These treatments will feature hydro-microdermabrasion technology and premium skincare solutions from Opatra London.

The goal is to give guests more targeted skincare options during their cruise, whether they are looking for rejuvenation, hydration, skin refreshment or a more advanced beauty treatment while at sea.

Japanese Head Spa, Teeth Whitening and Barbering Services

MSC Aurea Spa will also introduce a Japanese Head Spa experience, rolling out fleetwide from summer 2026. The treatment is inspired by traditional Japanese wellness practices and is designed as a deeply relaxing scalp and hair ritual.

Professional teeth whitening will also be added, with treatments delivered by qualified specialists using advanced technology. The enhanced MSC Aurea Spa program will also include new barbering services. These modern men’s grooming experiences will include scalp consultations and therapeutic massage treatments, expanding the spa’s beauty and grooming services for guests.

More Beauty and Wellness Services at Sea

Additional new services will include ear piercing at sea, with safe and hygienic piercing services using hypoallergenic jewelry.

MSC Cruises is also adding a restorative tea service to the spa experience. Guests will be able to enjoy a curated menu of wellness teas from Team Dr Joseph before or after treatments. The tea service is designed to support relaxation and recovery as part of the larger wellness journey onboard.

Starting in summer 2026, select MSC Aurea Spa guests will also receive an exclusive welcome gift. The premium wellness kit will feature curated products and amenities, including branded flip-flops, shaving kits and other wellness essentials.

What the New MSC Aurea Spa Experience Means for Guests

With these additions, MSC Cruises is positioning MSC Aurea Spa as a more complete wellness destination at sea. The enhanced experience will combine relaxation, beauty, recovery and self-care in one onboard setting.

For guests, that means more ways to personalize their cruise vacation. Some may choose traditional spa treatments and thermal areas, while others may explore advanced skincare, IV therapy, beauty services or restorative wellness options.

The expansion also gives MSC Cruises a stronger position in the growing wellness travel market, where travelers are increasingly looking for vacations that support personal wellbeing.

MSC Cruises Continues to Raise the Bar for Wellness at Sea

With the enhanced MSC Aurea Spa program launching across the fleet throughout 2026, MSC Cruises is continuing to expand what guests can expect from wellness at sea.

The new offerings bring together spa rituals, medical wellness, AI-powered skincare technology, beauty treatments, grooming services and restorative experiences. Together, they create a more complete onboard wellness destination for guests who want to relax, recharge and invest in their wellbeing while cruising.

As wellness continues to shape the future of travel, MSC Cruises is making MSC Aurea Spa a larger part of the guest experience across its fleet.
