MSC Poesia Alaska 2026 is officially taking shape as the ship emerges from dry dock following a series of major upgrades, just weeks before MSC Cruises begins its first-ever Alaska season.

The ship departed dry dock over the weekend and is now making its way toward Seattle, where it will begin sailing seven-night Alaska itineraries in May. The deployment marks MSC Cruises’ debut in the region, expanding the brand’s North American footprint while bringing its signature blend of European style and modern comfort to one of the most in-demand cruise destinations in the world.

MSC Cruises is entering Alaska for the first time in 2026, making this one of the most significant deployments for the brand in recent years.

Before arriving in Seattle, MSC Poesia will make a brief stop in Miami on April 22, 2026, before departing the following day on a special Panama Canal sailing to the West Coast. This repositioning voyage offers guests a unique opportunity to experience the refreshed ship as it transitions into its Alaska season.

MSC Poesia is scheduled to arrive in Seattle on May 11, 2026, where it will begin its inaugural Alaska sailing. From May through September 2026, the ship will operate seven-night itineraries from Seattle, visiting Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, and Victoria, British Columbia, while also featuring scenic cruising through Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier.

Onboard Enhancements Ahead of Alaska Debut

Following its time in dry dock, MSC Poesia now offers an updated onboard experience highlighted by several major additions.

The most significant upgrade is the introduction of the MSC Yacht Club, the brand’s exclusive “ship-within-a-ship” concept. The addition brings a more elevated experience to the vessel, with private spaces, dedicated service, and enhanced comfort—especially appealing for a destination like Alaska. Dining onboard has also been expanded to include Butcher’s Cut, MSC’s American-style steakhouse, and Kaito Sushi Bar, which offers freshly prepared sushi and Asian-inspired dishes. These venues add more variety and flexibility to the onboard dining experience. Wellness offerings have also been refreshed. The MSC Aurea Spa now features updated treatment rooms and an enhanced thermal area designed for relaxation, while the MSC Gym powered by Technogym® has been upgraded with new equipment, dedicated studio spaces, and personalized wellness options.
