MSC Cruises is giving its newest Galveston-based ship a Texas-sized twist. When MSC Seascape begins sailing 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries from Galveston on November 9, 2025, guests will be treated to an expanded lineup of food and beverage offerings inspired by the Lone Star State and the Gulf Coast.
From Texas-style prime rib and Cajun-spiced pork loin to buttermilk pie and spicy margaritas, MSC is leaning into the flavors that define Southern and Gulf Coast cuisine. The menu additions are designed to reflect the tastes of the region’s travelers while still offering MSC’s signature Mediterranean and international favorites.

A Taste of Texas at Sea
In the Marketplace Buffet, breakfast will feature hearty favorites like huevos rancheros, chicken & waffles drizzled with maple-hot sauce, and Tex-Mex taco and barbacoa omelet options. Lunch and dinner expand the experience with slow-roasted Texas-style prime rib, BBQ baked beans, Cajun-spiced pork loin with dirty rice, and Southern comfort staples like collard greens, buttermilk mashed potatoes, and roasted corn & poblano.
Guests will also find expanded Indian cuisine options, including vegan-friendly dishes, ensuring a diverse spread for all tastes.
The Main Dining Room will rotate regional menus, offering Texas classics such as smoked beef brisket with jalapeño BBQ sauce and vegan blackberry cobbler, alongside global themes like Italian Night and Caribbean Flair. On sea days, the fan-favorite Tour de Brunch will feature dishes from around the world, from jumbo cheeseburgers and Tunisian shakshuka to Japanese karaage fried chicken.
Specialty Dining & Global Flavors
MSC Seascape’s five specialty restaurants—including Kaito Sushi, Kaito Teppanyaki, HOLA! Tacos & Cantina, Ocean Cay Seafood, and Butcher’s Cut steakhouse—will also showcase new Texas touches. Complimentary breakfast will be offered at HOLA! Tacos & Cantina with Latin-inspired morning staples, while Butcher’s Cut will serve hearty starts like steak and eggs, smoothie bowls, and western omelets.
Drinks & Tasting Experiences
Bars and lounges will highlight Southern-inspired cocktails such as the Spicy Mexican Margarita and Backyard Punch, plus a lineup of local beers and novelty souvenir boot cups for a bit of Texas fun.
Guests can also book two immersive tasting experiences in the Wine Cellar:
MSC Bourbon & Bacon Experience – A smoky-sweet journey pairing bold bourbons with savory bacon.
MSC Macallan Experience – A guided exploration of the heritage and craftsmanship behind the world-renowned whisky.

Bringing Local Flavor to the High Seas
Josef Jungwirth, Vice President of Food & Beverage Operations for MSC Cruises U.S., emphasized that the new culinary programming is tailored specifically for Galveston’s market.
“As we welcome even more guests from Texas and the South on cruises from Galveston, we’re leaning into the region’s uniquely American cuisine,” Jungwirth said. “Our team has traveled the state to gather inspiration for what guests will find onboard, paired with MSC Cruises’ most popular offerings from Europe and around the world.”
With weekly departures from Galveston, MSC Seascape’s Western Caribbean itineraries will give travelers a chance to sail from their home state while savoring a mix of European flair and bold Texan comfort.
