MSC World Atlantic Floats Out Ahead of Port Canaveral 2027 Debut

MSC World Atlantic has officially touched water for the first time, marking one of the biggest construction milestones yet ahead of the ship’s Port Canaveral 2027 debut.
The new World Class vessel floated out at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, moving from the construction dock into the water as work continues toward her scheduled 2027 delivery.
Once completed, MSC World Atlantic will become the 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet and the fourth LNG-powered ship in the cruise line’s World Class series.
The MSC World Atlantic Port Canaveral 2027 season is scheduled to begin in November, when the ship will make her North American debut and begin sailing alternating 7-night and 14-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
What Does the MSC World Atlantic Float-Out Mean?
A ship’s float-out marks the point when the vessel leaves the construction dock and enters the water for the first time.
While MSC World Atlantic may now be afloat, construction is far from finished. The ship will remain at Chantiers de l’Atlantique as work continues throughout her interiors, public spaces and final technical systems ahead of delivery to MSC Cruises in 2027. The next stage of construction will transform much of the currently unfinished vessel into the ship passengers will eventually experience when the MSC World Atlantic Port Canaveral 2027 season begins.
When Will MSC World Atlantic Arrive in Port Canaveral?

MSC World Atlantic is scheduled to begin sailing from Port Canaveral, Florida, in November 2027. The ship is being designed to combine MSC Cruises’ European style with features and experiences geared toward the North American market. Onboard, MSC World Atlantic will feature seven distinct districts, each with its own combination of dining, entertainment, activities, and atmosphere. More details about the ship’s onboard experiences are expected to be revealed as construction progresses toward the Port Canaveral 2027 debut.
Where Will MSC World Atlantic Sail in 2027?
From Port Canaveral, MSC World Atlantic will operate alternating 7-night and 14-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.

Passengers can explore the destination through experiences including Grand Turk Flavors, Sightseeing and Beach, along with dune buggy adventures, snorkeling, and catamaran sailings. The stop will also give passengers access to Grand Turk’s white-sand beaches and clear Caribbean waters.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve & Sandy Cay
Sailings aboard MSC World Atlantic will include visits to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises’ private island destination in The Bahamas.
Passengers sailing during the MSC World Atlantic Port Canaveral 2027 season will be among the first to experience a series of planned enhancements to Ocean Cay, including an expanded family lagoon, a new adults-only beach and additional cabana options.
MSC Cruises is also expanding its private-island offering with Sandy Cay, a new exclusive luxury island experience located just across the water from Ocean Cay. Sandy Cay is scheduled to open during the winter 2027–2028 season, adding another island experience for passengers sailing aboard MSC World Atlantic.
At Ocean Cay, passengers can also explore the surrounding waters through activities including snorkeling, paddleboarding and water sports, or spend the day along the destination’s white-sand beaches.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
In Puerto Plata, passengers will have opportunities to experience the Dominican Republic through its culture, food and natural surroundings.
